JOHN FRANCIS GORSEK, age 92, beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Topp); loving father of John (Judy), Michael (Vickie), Kathryn Bretz (William), and Diane Gorsek; grandfather of Sara Crooks (Justin), Kimberly Gorsek, Mary Gorsek, Gina Gorsek (Jason Jette), Anthony Gorsek (Tanesha), Jesse Gorsek (Leanne Kennedy), Nicolas Binfield, and Marina Binfield; great-grandfather of Elliot Crooks and Alice Crooks; beloved son of the late Pauline (nee Bizyak) and John Gorsek, Sr.; dear brother of Joan Cifranic (James, deceased); brother-in-law of Beverly Harriman (Gerald); uncle of many.  Proud U.S. Navy veteran - Korea. John was an intelligent and ambitious man who was able to make something of his life. After high school, he spent 4 years aboard aircraft carriers and destroyers including during the Korean conflict in the US Navy. Afterwards, he availed himself of the G.I. bill and continued his education to become an engineer. He advanced his education at Western Michigan and Baldwin-Wallace.  He became a truck cab designer for the White Motor Company and traveled the globe. He was a history buff who was especially fascinated with World War 2. He was an athlete who loved sports and played golf. He married his high school sweetheart Dorothy  and raised 4 children. He was close to his sister Joan. He was extremely proud of his Slovenian heritage. He was deeply loved and will be missed. The family thanks the staff at Vitalia Strongsville and Cypress Hospice for their compassionate care. Passed away January 27, 2025. AT PURITAS, where friends may call FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 4-7 P.M. & SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 9:30 A.M. UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.  Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
