JOHN P. LALLY, age 79. The happiness of his daughters was John P. Lally's highest priority until his dying day, July 24, 2014, when he passed away in his home with family after a life filled with adventure, enjoyment and memories. Born in Cleveland, John had been a resident of Prescott Valley, AZ for the last 14 years. As an avid bicyclist, John rode his bike every day, exploring the trails of AZ. He also travelled with Elderhostel groups, biking an average of 30 miles per day. John will be remembered as a wise and peaceful man who enjoyed "taking the scenic route of life." He was a patron of the arts and of learning. He loved to read with a personal library of over 300 books. John enjoyed travelling the U.S. and Canada and visited Ireland and Europe several times. He was also a volunteer member of the Willow Lake Trail Construction Team. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Winifred (nee Spence) and younger brothers, Bobby and Charlie. In addition to his two daughters, Kathleen and Anyez, John will be missed by his stepdaughter Marcia Chalkwater, sister Patricia Bystrom, brother Bill, many step grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, many friends and neighbors. John was well liked by all. Funeral Mass Saturday, August 23, 2014, St. Brendan Church (4242 Brendan Lane) at 1 P.M.
