John Timothy Lally Sr., 68, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on June 23, 1958, John was the son of the late Edward and Patricia Lally. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent his career working for the Cleveland Water Department before retiring.
John was a man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle, or spending time with his family, he was happiest doing the things he loved. Above all else, his greatest joy came from being a dad and papa.
Known for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and dependability, John was someone you could always count on. He may have operated on his own schedule, affectionately known as “Lally time,” but when it truly mattered, he always showed up. He had a way of doing things on his own terms, and those who knew and loved him wouldn’t have had it any other way.
John leaves behind his five children, John Lally Jr. (Jessica), Dawn Lally, James Lally (Chantel), Patricia Lally (Michael), and Matthew Lally (Alyssa); and his beloved grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Mya, Cameron, Victor, Russell, Reese, Payton, Mason, Tyler, Landon, and Milo.
He is also survived by his brother, Edward Lally, and the mothers of his children, Tammi Mosback and Shirley Pickering, with whom he maintained close and meaningful relationships with. He was also a beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many, leaving behind cherished memories with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Patricia Lally, and his brother William Lally.
John’s legacy isn’t measured by the years he worked or the things he owned, but by the family he raised, the memories he made, and the people who knew they could always count on him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered every time someone is running a little late on “Lally time.”
