JOHN J. "JOE" NIEBERDING passed away on April 12, 2023. He was born June 24, 1944 to the late Herbert and Mary (McDonough). Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Nancy (nee Somos); dear Dad of Joey Nieberding (deceased), Karen Cook (Steven), Mark Nieberding (Bianca), and Elizabeth Blowers (Matthew); brother of the late Jim and Bill Nieberding; devoted Grandpa to Heidi, Harlan, and Hiram; cherished companion of Judi Filbert.

Joe worked at NASA as an Aerospace Engineer for more than 40 years. In his retirement, he and his friend and colleague Larry Ross created Aerospace Engineering Associates. They developed a course called Mission Success First: Lessons Learned which took their expertise in the Space Program across the country and eventually, internationally. They lectured on mishaps and near-misses as it related to the Space Program but were also able to customize their class in order to bring it to companies in other fields such as Boeing and Disney. Joe was also a Lionel train enthusiast who crafted an entire train display in his basement which he added to every year. He liked to work with his hands, whether it was at one of his kids' homes, building a tree house, or on his more recent endeavor down at the property in Southern Ohio. He had a fantastic sense of humor. Though he was a highly respected Aerospace Engineer with an impressive career, if you were to ask him what he was most proud of and what his priority was, he would tell you there is nothing more important than family and making traditions.

Funeral Mass Wednesday, April 19, St. Raphael Church (525 Dover Center Rd.) at 10:30 AM. (Mass will be livestreamed at http://tiny.cc/jnieberding) PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
