John came to America in 1951 with his parents and brothers from his beloved Ireland. Although he loved America he never forgot his homeland. John attended St. Edward's High School and was their biggest fan for the rest of his life. He received the Bronze Eagle Award which was a great honor to him. John loved being a plumber and took great pride in being a Master Plumber and the County Plumbing Foreman for many years. John tackled problems in life head on. He joined AA at the age of 40 and never looked back. He spent the rest of his life helping people overcome their addiction problems with alcohol. John loved Cleveland and the sport teams and never missed an Indians game. John O'Boyle was a glass half full guy and acted as a father figure to a wide group of West Park kids. Everyone looked up to him. He led by example and had a strict moral code that was guided by his deep faith. John lit up every room he entered from the beginning until the end of his time. His example will never be forgotten.
