IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John F.
Terlaak
September 22, 1934 – February 9, 2018
John Francis "Jack" Terlaak, 83, of Olmsted Falls, moved on to new adventures Friday, February 9, 2018, providing watchful oversight from an improved vantage point.
Jack was born September 22, 1934 in Cleveland where he resided until relocating to Olmsted Falls in 1978.
He attended trade school in Cleveland and spent 43 years with Ford Motor Company in Brookpark.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Henrietta "Hank" (nee Mederer) of Olmsted Falls; he will be forever immortalized by children Debra Browning (Rock) of Logan, West Virginia, Dennis of North Ridgeville and Renee Young (Greg) of Belton, Texas; eternally revered by grandchildren Daniel and Randal Browning, Dennis Terlaak, Jr. and Bailey Young, venerated by great grandchildren Daniel, Nathaniel, Elijah, Jonathan, Van, Emily, and Lily; adored – or whatever – by fur kid Simba; and cherished by sister Mary Mederer (Joe).
He was a member of the Ohio National Guard, serving as an Ammunition Specialist and Cook in Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 179th Coastal Anti-Aircraft Artillery Missile Battalion from 1952 to 1958.
A remarkable, yet unassuming friend, coach, mentor, practical joker, sharpshooter, confidant, and patriot, but most notably, Dahdy, (spelt correctly), Pops, and Gramps. Jack enjoyed time spent with family and friends, as well as bowling, fishing, golfing, cross cutting the lawn, doting on Simba, cheering for the Cleveland Indians, suffering heartbreak by the Browns, whistling for his kids to return, and doing almost everything he heard Hank request.
Preceded in death by son Richard, sister Roberta, and parents Frank and Helen (nee Sheehan).
