JOSEPH A. BELLANTIS, SR., age 97, beloved husband of the late Charlotte B. (nee Kunesh); loving father of Joanne Jobi, Juanita, Jeffery (Patty), Jim and the late Joseph, Jr.; grandfather of four and great-grandfather of eight; son of the late Antoinette (nee Levicci) and Julius; brother of the late Dorothy Vitanza; uncle and great-uncle of many.  Proud WWII U.S. Army vetern.  Passed away February 17, 2024.  Memorial Service Wednesday, February 21, at 1:00 P.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of BEREA, 86 ADALBERT ST. OFF FRONT ST. (LOCATED IN THE POLISH VILLAGE HISTORIC DISTRICT) where friends may call WEDNESDAY 11 A.M. Joseph Bellantis – 1/4/27 – 2/17/2024

Born to Italian immigrants in the 20's… Joseph witnessed much in his 97 years. After toiling at a young age through the Great Depression, he eventually served in WWII before returning home and starting a family.

He met Charlotte, his wife of 55 years at Cleveland's Forum Café, leading to a long career in the food industry… including 32 years at Rini's Stop-N-Shop (now Giant Eagle) where he opened and managed meat departments until retiring.

An avid Ohio State, Cleveland sports fan and golfer (who achieved a hole-in-one) retirement freed time for his passion which led him to Creekwood Golf Course where he worked another 15 years, ending his time there as a long-time starter.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte (nee Kunesh), sister Dorothy Vitanza, and son Joseph.  Loving father of Joanne Jobi, Juanita, Jeffery, & Jim; grandfather of Darren, Brendan, Colin and Michael; great grandfather of Caleb, Cohen, Olivia, Emma, Ava, Grace, Ethan, and Jonathan. Beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many.
