JOSEPH "JOE" GAGLIONE
January 12, 1946 – April 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Gaglione, a beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Joe passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family.
Joe was born on January 12, 1946, to August and Louise Gaglione, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Constance Gearo, and her husband, Bill Gearo.
Joe shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Nancy Gaglione (nee Hauck), with whom he built a loving home and shared countless cherished memories. Together, they raised their daughter, Claire Gaglione Steiger (Aaron), who was the light of Joe's life. Joe was also a proud "grandpa" to his fur-grandbabies, Oakley and Meeka, who brought him endless joy.
Joe had a long and distinguished career as Captain of the Federal Police at NASA, where he served with honor, dedication, and integrity. Joe took great pride in his work and was deeply respected by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Joe is survived by his brother, Michael Gaglione (Marie), and was a cherished brother-in-law to Keith Walker (Cindy), Deb Walker, and Steve Walker (Colleen). He was a loving uncle to Bill Gearo (Lisa), Anne Gearo, Mary Gearo, Rosina Gearo, John Gearo (Wendy), Vinson Walker (Heather), Dana Walker, Stephen Walker (Kristie), and Meghan Neuhaus (Jon). He was also a proud great-uncle to Michael, Emily, Erin, Bri, Paige, Nicholas, Spike, Kodi, Justin, Brandon, Gabriel, Emalyn, Dominick, Aubrielle, Aneliese, and Conor.
Joe will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was a man of integrity, strength, and compassion, whose presence brightened every room he entered. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply lending a listening ear, Joe had a way of making everyone feel valued and loved.
Joe's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his parents, sister, brother-in-law, and other loved ones who have gone before him.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Chambers Funeral Home at 29150 Lorain Rd, North Olmsted, OH 44070, with visitation from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. To honor Joe's preference for keeping things casual, the family invites attendees to dress comfortably—jeans are welcome. Joe wasn't one for formal attire, and the family wants to celebrate his life in a way that reflects his personality.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Joe's memory by spending time with those you love and cherishing the moments that matter most. If you would like to make a donation, the family suggests contributing to Hospice of the Western Reserve (Ames Family Hospice House), https://www.hospicewr.org/About/Ames-family-house whose compassionate care brought comfort to Joe, Nancy, and Claire in his final days, or, if you prefer, you can make a direct donation to the family to help cover funeral expenses.
Joe will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will forever be a blessing to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
