IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph F.
Kraus
July 13, 1932 – July 20, 2023
JOSEPH F. KRAUS, age 91, of Brook Park, passed away at home on July 20, 2023. Loving husband of 40 years of Susan (nee Shupek) and the late Louise (nee Tonarelli); devoted father of Joseph (Peg), Jim, David (Myra), Cathy Krynak (Jim), Noel Panzar (Tim), James (Kim) and the late Heidi; cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of Grace; son of the late Amelia (nee Noll) and Joseph; brother of the late Jacqueline Zinkand (Don).
Joe served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and thereafter in the Air Force Reserves. In later years, he never left home without his Air Force Veterans Cap, which he wore proudly. He enjoyed working in his garden, growing tomato seedlings for his friends, and dogs of every shape and size. He devoted much of his life to St. Adalbert Parish in Berea, where he served on virtually every committee and chaired many of them. He enjoyed traveling and particularly cruising. He achieved a lifelong goal when he and Sue sailed through the Panama Canal several years ago. He could fix or repair almost anything and regularly looked forward to working on projects at the homes of his adult children. By far, his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He and Sue endeavored to attend every sporting event, marching band performance and graduation and regularly traveled to Florida and Vermont to do so. His grandchildren adored him and for good cause. He was hard working and held himself to the highest moral and ethical standards. He could always be counted on to do the right thing. He was the best friend you could ever have. He was also a dedicated husband and he made the world a little better because he was here.
