JOSEPH F. PATTEN, SR., age 94, native of Saula, Achill Island, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Beloved husband of 64 years to Mary (nee Lydon); loving father of Johnny, Mary Czaplicki (Ted), Joe Jr. (Josephine), Dennis (Gale), Brigid Dunlap (Tim) and Kathleen Hennessey (Tom); grandfather of 18; great-grandfather of 19 and 2 on the way; son of the late Brigid and Martin Patten; brother of Martha Sweeney of Achill and the late John, Martin, Patrick, Owen, Catherine, Michael and James (all of Ireland), Dennis of Cleveland and Mary Lydon of Oakland, CA; beloved uncle and great uncle of many. Retired 50 year member of Operating Engineers Local 18 and longtime member of the West Side Irish American Club. Passed away September 15, 2016.
