JOSEPH JACOB YANIK, age 96, World War II Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully early Monday morning at his home in Strongsville. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Rose Marie (nee Barnish) and loving father of two daughters, Gloria Rivette (William) and Joyce Boose; son, Dr. David D. Yanik (Antida); 10 grandchildren: Timothy, Tamara, Nicole, Marc, Danielle, Alexandra, Anastasia, Joseph Jacob II, Rose and David Daniel II; 5 great-grandchildren: Marc Jr., Jesse, Kailyn Alina, Aryana Rose and Joseph Roman. Joseph is also survived by a sister, Mary Yanik; brother-in-law, Stanley Barnish (Joan); sisters-in-law, Sophie Barnish and Mary Caucci. We will remember his big heart and full engagement in life. He lived with unabated curiosity, deep wisdom gained from his practical approach to life's circumstances, continuous optimism and a rich abiding faith. Funeral Mass Tuesday, July 12, St. Adalbert Church (Berea) at 10:00 AM with Fr. Gerald Keller Celebrant. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
