JOSEPHINE ANN SALVO (nee Cassisi), age 94, beloved wife of the late Nicolo; loving mother of Vito (Mary), Lenore Hohman (Timothy), Nick (Kathleen), and John (Patricia); proud grandmother of Gina Kretz (Christopher), Christina Conley (Brian), Nicholas (Rochelle), Victoria Vitale (Sam), and Michael; great-grandmother of six; dear sister of Dr. Nicholas Cassisi (Dr. Elayne Cassisi) and the late Peter Cassisi (Catherine), Ann Schepis (Frank), and Angela Fauver; aunt and great-aunt of many.

Josephine was born in Portage, Pennsylvania in 1932 as a coal miner’s daughter. The family then moved to Cleveland in 1945. Graduated from West High School in 1949 at the age of 17 and was hired by the Cleveland Electric Illuminating (CEI) as a secretary. She worked in the Marketing department for 35 years until she retired in 1990. Jo was recognized with an award from CEI for her distinguished and kind service towards customers with their electrical needs. She was always smiling and would always say, “it doesn’t hurt to be kind.” Jo enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the North Olmsted Senior Center for the last 24 years. She enjoyed participating in chair yoga, cards, Bingo and day trips. But above all, Jo would tell you her biggest accomplishment were her four children. She loved spending time with family and always looked forward to family get-togethers.

Passed away June 4, 2026. Funeral Mass Tuesday, June 9, 2026, St. Richard Church (26855 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted) at 11:30 A.M. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
