Her Life Story...

Judi's life began in northwestern Connecticut, being born in Hartford, CT to mother Agnes (Fitzie) and father Robert (Bob) Malone. With Bob being an FBI – Special Agent, a transfer to Chicago came and she soon found herself, in the early years, growing up with her only sibling/sister Roberta (Bobbie) in the village of Park Forest, Illinois, just south of Chicagoland.

At Rich Central High School, Judi excelled in Academics and developed a self-taught passion for music, learning how to play the guitar and forming a Folk Group consisting of 6 girls, called JAM & Company that performed at local school events, meetings and events. Off to college found her following her Father's path, enrolling at Saint Michael's College in Winooski, VT (outside of Burlington). Judi was part of the 2nd class of female students, at the previous all male institution. There she met her future husband John, who was a then Junior, 2 years ahead of her. There she continued pursuing her love for music and voice/theatre performance, graduating in 1975 with a BA degree in Fine Arts with an Education minor. Her college experiences included performance Choir at Notre Dame Cathedral (Montreal), St. Patrick's Church (NYC), and roles in various plays and musicals as part of her drama curriculum.

Following graduation, Judi moved back home to Illinois, marrying her husband John of 47 years, in 1975. There she remained active in local Church/Community – Choir and Theatre, including performing the lead role of Laurey, in the musical OKLAHOMA. Career wise, Judi began working in downtown Chicago at the membership desk of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Soon to follow were 2 children, Rob (1978) & Laura (1980), and a move further south of Chicago to a small farming community, named Peotone, IL. There she was greatly involved with her 2 young children, as Cub Scout – Den Mother/Boy Scout adult leadership, Church – Summer Bible School, Music Program, director.

December 1988 saw a move to Olmsted Falls, OH, in support of John's job change, and to re-unite with her sister's family [Bobbie Rooney], with niece, Darcy and nephew, Brendan. 17 years living in Olmsted Falls saw the progression of children Rob & Laura, with their accomplishments, graduating High School (Rob-96 & Laura- 98) with Judi being involved and supportive in all the Ballet Academy, School Sports, Choir and Band activities. During her children's school period, Judi was a substitute teacher and worked as a proof-reader/magazine specialist @ Penton Publishing.

Fall of 2005 came with a re-location move, due to husband John's career situation, to Attleboro, Massachusetts (Providence, RI area). Then ensued many family trips, back & forth to Ohio, until John's retirement from work and a subsequent move back to Strongsville, OH, in January 2021. Once returned to Ohio, Judi's focus was being with her children and grandchildren [Rob & Mandy = Ryan now 11; Anna - 9 & Laura & Tim Marlowe = Nolan - 10; London - 6 & Irelynn – 3.5]. She participated in as many of their activities, as possible. Judi's passion and commitment were always selflessly directed to supporting and loving her Family.

Judi will be dearly missed. God bless her!
