Judith B. Stell (née Wright) went home to be with her Savior on February 8, 2024, after a long struggle with dementia. While most of her adult life was spent on the farm in Baldwinsville, NY, for the last eighteen months, she lived at Arden Courts Memory Care in Westlake, OH. Judy was born in Saranac Lake, NY in 1941, but spent most of her formative years in East Syracuse, NY. After graduating from East Syracuse High School, she worked as an X-ray technician and a phlebotomist. She was introduced to her future husband, Robert G. Stell, by his sister, a co-worker of Judy's. Bob and Judy were married in July 1965 and had three children: Michael, Sharon (Gardiner), and Andrew. They purchased the family apple farm in Baldwinsville where they raised their children. Judy's love of people was on display while running the apple sales on the farm. Her homemade apple pies and apple sauce were legendary among her family and friends. When they retired from farming, Bob and Judy split their time between the farm and Mission, TX.

Some of Judy's favorite activities were reading, watching Jeopardy, doing crosswords, playing Yahtzee, camping, and traveling. She enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks with her family—especially when joined by her grandchildren. They had been to all fifty states and most Canadian provinces and enjoyed traveling with friends and family. One of her favorite travel activities was riding trains, significant because her father was a retired railroad worker. She and Bob fulfilled two of their travel goals when they visited Alaska and China.

Judy was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Baldwinsville where she frequently volunteered in various ministries in her church. She also taught middle school math for several years at Faith Baptist Academy, now Baldwinsville Christian Academy. She is pre-deceased by her parents, James and Emma Wright, and her sisters, Janice (Whitcomb) and Joann (Carguello). She is survived by her husband, Bob; her sister, Cynthia (Delumyea); her children, Michael (Carrie), Sharon (Brian Gardiner), and Andrew (Carolyn); her grandchildren—Elizabeth, James, Rebecca, Emma, Lucy, Joseph, Georgia, Liam, and Jeremy; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11 AM at Faith Baptist Church in Baldwinsville, NY, followed by a committal service at the Kingdom Cemetery in Baldwinsville. Calling hours will be on Friday, February 16 at Bush Funeral Home in Elbridge, NY from 4-7 PM.
