KATHLEEN RAE NEVEL (nee Schmidt) lost her battle with heart disease May 22, 2019, surrounded by her family at Washington (DC) Adventist Hospital.  She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Violet and Raymond Schmidt. She received her teaching certificate from Kent State University and taught at St. Luke's in Lakewood.  She is survived by her devoted husband Bill; four children, Christine (Phelps), Chuck (Annie), Tim,  Karen "Kerry;" six grandchildren, (Cotton, Brianna, Maggie, Emmett, Gretchen, Paige) and Nick, who is deceased. Joining Bill in mourning are her sisters, Janet (Pat), Marlene (Barry), Coletta (Jack) and her brother Raymond (Eileen) and Bill's siblings, Bob, Betty, Ralph (Kathleen M.). Kathleen graduated from Lourdes Academy as did her sisters.  During their 57 year marriage she lived in Lakewood, OH, FT. Sill, OK, Evanston, IL, Annapolis, MD, and Doha, Qatar.

Memorial Mass Saturday, August 17, 2019, St. Brendan Church (4242 Brendan Lane, North Olmsted, OH) at 10 A.M. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery (Brook Park, OH).
