KITTY "KATHERINE" VIANCOURT (nee Ballantyne) age 75. Beloved wife of 56 years to Bill;   loving mother of Patty Wherley, William Viancourt, Jennifer Viancourt and Amanda Morris (Matt); dear grandmother of Tessa Stephens, Grace Edelheit (Michael), Quentin Wherley (fiancee Sarah Heading), Mia Stutzman, Addison Morris and Tyler Morris; great-grandmother of Julian Sylvester; sister of the late Quentin Ballantyne, Mary Ann Ballantyne and Andrew Ballantyne; aunt and friend of many.

Kitty was a woman who embodied many great qualities, and her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her.

After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1966, she married William (Bill) in 1967 after knowing each other for many years and growing up across the street from one another most of their lives.

Shortly after their marriage, Kitty and Bill started their family. Despite raising four children of their own, Kitty was affectionately known as "Mom" to many beyond her biological children. Whether it was the neighborhood kids or members of her Girl Scout Troop— Kitty was a confidant and safe space for all.

It was no surprise to anyone who knew her that these maternal instincts eventually translated into her successful career as a nurse. Over time, she inspired many generations of nurses to follow in her footsteps. Throughout her career, Kitty touched the lives of patients in the ICU and CCU at Deaconess Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, and at OBGYN West. Her strength, attention to detail, and knowledge have no doubt left a lasting impact on both patients, colleagues, and mentees alike.

Kitty never met a stranger, and was a fast friend to anyone who came across her path. During her (sometimes more than) once a day trip to The Marc's, she was quick to strike up a conversation with anyone while waiting in the checkout line or over the clearance rack.

She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends. Many can recall fond memories of trips taken with Kitty, Bill & their families. Although she did not enjoy long car rides (unless she was driving), she was always in good spirits and company whether it was the yearly drive to Florida or a trip to Las Vegas.

Her favorite things included Christmas time, gift-giving, M&Ms, Florida sunshine, sewing outfits for her grandchildren, never missing the opportunity to send a card, her faith, and her loved ones.

Above all else, nothing was as important to Kitty as being surrounded by the love and laughter of family and friends. Her home and heart were always open to those she held dear. She was a loyal wife, loving mother, and doting "Gram" and Great Grandma. The example she set of what it means to love, lead, and serve in each of these roles is fundamental to her family.

In addition to her earthly roles, Kitty served the Lord faithfully, and her family finds comfort knowing that she is now in His presence, surrounded by His love for eternity.

While Kitty's physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of many. May her memory continue to bless all who knew her.
