LAWRENCE J. "LARRY" O'DONNELL, age 75, (native of Dooagh, Achill, Co. Mayo, Ireland).  Beloved husband of 50 years to Christine (nee Kelly); loving father of Patrick (Tricia), Bridget Hemlinger (Skip), Catherine Jurecko (Michael) and Theresa O'Donnell; proud Papa of Sean, Preston, Clare, Cara, Sarah, Meghan, Erin and Catherine Anne; dear brother of Patrick O'Donnell (Frances) of Dublin, Ireland, Martin O'Donnell (Lorna) of England; Anne Mulloy (Steve) (both deceased) and Bernadette "Bernie" Goggin (deceased) (Patrick); dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many.  Passed away September 27, 2023.  Larry retired from the Ford Motor Casting Plant in Brook Park.  Funeral Mass Monday, October 2, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (708 Erie St., Grafton) at 11 A.M. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., SUNDAY 2-5 P.M.

Lawrence left Ireland in 1966 for London to work in the insurance business. In 1971, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Lawrence began working at the Ford Motor Company at the Cleveland Casting Plant in 1973 and retired in 2007.

Lawrence was a long time member of the West Side Irish American Club. He was a trustee for over 10 years and volunteered for many events and occasions at the club. He was selected by the WSIA Club as the 2017 Man of the Year. Lawrence has marched in in the St. Patrick's Day Parade with the West Side Irish American Club, carrying various different flags over the last 50 years. Growing up, and even still to this today, his children have been active in several different marching units with the West Side Irish American Club. His grandchildren have continued the tradition and are active in marching in the parade every year. .
