Loretta Cecelia Witnik Gajewski (Yetta), age 90, was born September 11, 1929, and peacefully entered eternity August 1, 2020. Married on May 28, 1949, she and her beloved Joseph (Joeie), United States Army World War II Veteran, celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Loretta was mother to Gregory (Melissa), Dianne Snyder, Judith Engle (Ken), Veronica Stulock (Mike), and Teresa Guggenbiller (Rick); grandmother to Adam, Alex, Amanda, Cathryn, Elliott, Emily, Jasen, and Nicholas; and great-grandmother to Chloe, Claire, Connor, Cora, Joseph, Maggie, and Molly. An actively practicing Catholic of Polish heritage, Loretta was a proud graduate of the Marymount High School Class of 1947 and maintained many of her schoolgirl friendships throughout the past 70+ years. She loved being a homemaker, was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and said the holy rosary many times a day. Loretta also loved the American flag, leisurely bike rides, spending hours on end at her sewing machine, her word search puzzles ("they are SO interesting"), sunflowers, and a good dish of ice cream! Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, at 10am Tuesday, August 4, with interment immediately thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery. Loretta and family were sincerely humbled by and grateful for the unfailing love and care extended by each and every member of the team at Joshua Tree Senior Living Center, and it is our collective wish that in lieu of any floral or other tribute, contributions be made for art and craft supplies in her name to Joshua, c/o Lisa Bragg, 27470 Mill Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
