MADELON R. LOGAN (nee Reinhard) age 89. Beloved wife of the late William M. (Bill) Logan; mother of Elyse Logan (Phillip Ozimek), Laura, Molly and Andrew (Amy); grandmother of 8; great-grandmother of 4; sister of Thomas and Daniel and the late Carl, Charlotte, Helen, Mary and Jude. passed away June 14, 2022, surrounded by family.

Born and raised in New Castle Pa., Madelon was one of 8 Reinhard children who made their way through the Great Depression with the help of a Jersey Cow, a flock of 200 chickens, and a large home-grown garden of vegetables and fruit. Each child had a job to do to sustain the farm after a severe auto accident in 1937, permanently disabled their father.

Madelon attended New Castle High School, and at 16, met her husband to be, Bill Logan during Catholic Day at Cascade Park. Before they were married, Madelon worked as a PBX Operator with the Pennsylvania Bell Telephone Company, where she was responsible for routing calls, transferring information, and handling various administrative duties. Madelon and Bill married in 1954. As a Sales Engineer, Bill was required to frequently relocate – which took them and their 4 children to Pittsburgh, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, and finally Cleveland. Madelon was the point person, organizing and creating a loving home with each move into new neighborhoods, parishes and schools. Settling in Cleveland enabled them to regularly travel back to New Castle for birthdays, holidays, and extended family vacations. Madelon LOVED her family, nieces and nephews and relatives.

In 1975, Bill started his own manufacturing business. With Madelon as his greatest supporter, the business grew. A surprising cancer diagnosis in 1984 for Bill at the age of 53 changed their world. Bill lost his battle with cancer in 1986, leaving Madelon, her adult children, and loyal employees to press on and grow the business. Madelon's strong faith in God and her children – gave her the courage to soldier through some very difficult times. Today, the business is thriving and internationally recognized, exporting products to over 40 countries.

Madelon's children and grandchildren, treasure the memories of her singing, sharing nursery rhymes, reading books and playing games. She attended many a sporting event, school play and Christmas concert in support of her children and grandchildren. Trips to the summer cottage at Lake Chautauqua made for great memories of feeding the ducks, fishing off the pier, trips to the Chautauqua Institute and watching beautiful sunsets.

In Madelon's early life, she and her three sisters performed as a singing quartet at many community functions and were featured on a local radio program. Madelon was sought out as a soloist for weddings. In her adult life, she was a member of the St. Ann's parish choir, and bass in a 4-part harmony Sweet Adeline quartet, which participated and placed in regional competitions. Madelon's love of music continued into her days at Ennis Court, where she very much enjoyed listening to the live performers and singing at daily Mass.
