MARGARET ELLEN COLLINS (nee Honan) passed away January 9, 2020, with her loving family at her bedside.  Margaret is the last surviving child of the much-loved Michael and Mary Ellen (McDonald) Honan family of Buffalo, NY.  She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel W. Collins, three grandsons, Daren Bashor, Cody Gullette and Jared Garland, her 2 sisters and 6 brothers.  She is survived by her three sons, Daniel (Maryann), Kevin, Patrick (Jenifer), and her seven daughters, Susan Bashor (Mark), Kathleen Power (Michael), Ann Marie Garland (Joe Parsley), Mary Mulloy (Patrick), Margaret Gullette, Joan Larsen (Dennis), and Jeanne Collins.  Her family includes 27 Grandchildren and 33 Great-Grandchildren.

Peggy, as she is more affectionately known, was the heart and soul of this family.  She had a way of bringing out the best in everyone she met.  Her smile was infectious.

Peggy was very proud of her Irish heritage, with both her parents having emigrated from Ireland.  The lasting love of her life was truly her husband, Dan.  They met at South Park High School in South Buffalo.  Marrying in 1943, while Dan served in the Navy, they promised to raise a family true to their Irish heritage.  Peggy was an ever present mother, very involved in her church, her family and all of their sporting activities.

In the late 1960's, the family moved to North Olmsted, Ohio, where she became an active member of St. Brendan Catholic Church helping with school functions.  She also participated in the Ladies' Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union.  Her greatest joy however remained providing love and guidance to her family.  Margaret (Mom/Grandma/Gigi) will be sorely missed but comfort will be taken that she will be reunited with those who have passed before her, especially her beloved, Dan.

Funeral Mass Monday, January 13, St. Brendan Church (4242 Brendan Lane, North Olmsted) at 11 A.M. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
