MARGARET MARY RABATSKY (nee Field) age 96. Beloved wife of the late Robert; mother of Kathleen, Therese Ehr (Gregory), Robert (Jan McMahon), William (Mary), Timothy (Bettymay), Mary Halsey (Gary) and Ann Pole (Rick); grandmother of Ali, Elizabeth Fiorentino, Joanna Fiorentino, Anastasia, Kathryn, Julie Griffith, Lynn, Emily Raymond (Austin), Jeannie Gogal (Jim) and Michelle; great-grandmother of Nora Griffith, Nina Griffith, Natalie Griffith and Elizabeth Gogal; daughter of the late Lillian and Robert Field.

Margaret was born and raised in Cleveland's Gordon Park area.

She attended St. Colman Elementary School and St. Therese Academy (now known as St. Joseph Academy). Following high school graduation in 1943, she worked in the Secretariat of the Diocese of Cleveland.

She married in 1951 and raised 7 children with an often-travelling husband. Mom enjoyed music and art, played mean games of golf and tennis, was an avid runner, and passed along her father's love of sailing our great Lake Erie with her children and grandchildren. There was no more an exciting vacation day in Mitiwanga than the day she was given a small sailing dingy by Robert and taught the household how to tack and jibe.

She was a lifelong Indians, Browns and Cavaliers fan whose optimism always exceeded the teams play.

She loved to walk in the Metroparks, wearing out innumerable sets of sneakers right up until the last weeks of her life.

She was a long-time volunteer at St. John West Shore Hospital.

She had a deep devotion to the Catholic Church and to the prayer and asked that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Poor Clare Colettine Nuns of Cleveland, OH or to the charity of your choice.

Funeral Mass Friday, Jan 21, Holy Trinity Church (33601 Detroit Rd.) at 10:00 A.M. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS, THURSDAY 4-7 P.M.  (The family respectfully requests that face masks be worn if not fully vaccinated.)
