MARGARET LOUISE WEST (nee Taylor), age 100. Born July 15, 1919 in Ashtabula, OH, only child of the late Walter Jay and Frances Taylor (nee Reed); beloved wife for 64 years of the late Spencer A.; loving mother of Julie West (Gary Neuman, deceased) and Roger West (Denise); grandmother of Roger D. West (Stephanie) and Alex West (Jordan). Margaret was raised in Lakewood and attended Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music for 2 years. Margaret and Spencer moved from East Cleveland to North Olmsted in 1954 where they lived until 2010 when they moved to Wesleyan Village in Elyria. Margaret worked at Society for Savings Bank prior to her marriage in 1947. After the children were older, she worked for the City of North Olmsted, first as Clerk of Council and then as secretary to the Safety/Service Director. Early in her married life Margaret was a Girl Scout leader and was known for her homemade bread. She and Spencer enjoyed the outdoors with frequent Sunday morning breakfasts in the park and family camping, hiking and canoeing vacations. In her later years she took up quilting and continued to read and enjoy music and her cat. Passed away August 6, 2019. Funeral Service Saturday, August 10, at 3:00 p.m. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., where friends may call SATURDAY 1:00 P.M. UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
