IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark E.
Weyhe
June 4, 1965 – October 22, 2025
MARK E. WEYHE, age 60, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on October 22, 2025.
Known for his kind heart, silly nicknames, black Reebok sneakers, concert t-shirts, and a life-long love of dogs, Mark was a dutiful and caring son, brother, uncle, colleague, friend and neighbor. His sudden departure has been heartbreaking to all who knew and loved him.
Mark was the fourth of five children born to Dennis and Barbara Weyhe (both deceased). A 1983 graduate of Elyria High School, he briefly attended John Carroll University while working for a small printing company before transferring to the Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated from RIT with a bachelor's degree in printing management in 1991 and began a career in the industry that took him from Ohio to Michigan, Missouri, and Kentucky along the way. Desiring to help care for his aging parents, Mark moved back to Elyria in 2014 and switched careers. With his ability to easily grasp technical concepts, he landed in internal IT at Deloitte, serving in roles that benefited the firm in Cleveland, across the US, and globally. During his 11-year tenure, Mark developed a reputation as the "go-to" person for solving some of the toughest security and infrastructure challenges.
Mark enjoyed reading about new ideas and lived his life with a strong sense of personal integrity. His knowledge of music—especially the best rock guitarists and bands of the 1960s and 70s—was expansive, impressive, and always a talking point. An outdoorsman at heart, he was most at peace with the world while fishing in Canada or on Lake Erie and taking long hikes with his dogs at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania. Though he had no children of his own, Mark was a constant and fun-loving presence in the lives of his many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his siblings: Dennis (Nancy Pierson) Weyhe, Nancy (Paul) Wellener, Kathy (Greg) Diederich, and Tricia (Marc) Williamson; his nieces and nephews: David (Nik) Weyhe, Scott (Ditta) Weyhe, Erica Weyhe, Shannon Testa (Eric) Howsley, Lesley (Al) Wellener Rodriguez, Haley (Ryan) Wellener Sharma, Carly (Moss Woodbury) Wellener, Brian (Shelagh) Diederich, Kate (Matt) Jones, Amy Diederich, Will Williamson, and Daphne Williamson; and his two Australian Shepherds: Sparky and Tasha.
Memorial Service Friday, November 14, at 12 P.M., at the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., where friends may call THURSDAY, November 13, 4-7 P.M. A Celebration of Life luncheon will immediately follow the service.
