MARY ANN DEIMLING (née Krysh) passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was 89 years old.

Born on May 1, 1936, Mary Ann lived with a simple yet profound philosophy: go on anyway. Even in the later stages of her illness, as her pain increased and she was no longer able to drive, her spirit remained strong. She often shared that there was still more she wanted to do and see. Throughout her life, she had an amazing will to live and her determination to embrace each day was an inspiration to many.

Mary Ann was a devoted wife to James “Jim” Deimling for 53 years, and to Eli “Skip” Peris for 17 years prior. She was the beloved mother of five children: Barb Draves (Jack), Nita Peterson (Ken), Jimmy Peris (her favorite), Kathy Hudak, and Marianna Peris (Francis Lavelle deceased). She was the cherished Nana of: Morgan Vogel (Jim), John Draves, Ken Peterson (Jane), Krista Wagner (Mark Vance), Jacquelyn Perez (Kenneth Nicholas), Heidi Peris (Jacob Frankenberger), Niki Marich (Goran), Katie Hudak (Jason Quinones); and Busia to: Henry and Marty Vogel, Bella Wagner, Paige Wolfe (Lawrence), Chaise, Madison, and Manny Perez, Connor, Kyle, and Cameron Frankenberger, Jordan Marich (Danielle), Savanah Marich, Abby Dull, Luka Marich, and Ava Hudak; and great-Busia to: Bailey and Cooper Wolfe, Codie Rockhold, and Mila Marich.

Known lovingly as Busia (Polish for grandmother), she believed family always came first. She loved fiercely, kept tabs on everyone, and never missed an opportunity to show up for the people she loved. Her heart only grew as her family grew. An only child, Mary Ann cherished her extended family, especially her cousins.

Mary Ann enjoyed traveling, especially when it meant time with her children and grandchildren. From amusement parks to family vacations, she delighted in creating memories together. She was also a dedicated shopper - especially at Karen’s Hallmark in Berea - and was known for her uncanny ability to find exactly what someone needed before they even knew they needed it.

She believed strongly in the dignity of work and spent many years serving the Berea community, including her time with Berea City Schools as a bus driver and later as Supervisor of Transportation. Retirement didn’t last long for Mary Ann, who started driving the Berea Jitney and then coordinating drivers for Senior Wheels serving Berea up until 2025.

A longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Berea, Mary Ann’s Catholic faith anchored her life. She attended Mass every Sunday and found strength in prayer in both good times and difficult ones.

She also treasured her friendships, especially her weekly lunch bunch, where laughter and camaraderie sustained her over the years. Mary Ann was truly a friend of many and maintained lifelong connections with those she held dear.

Mary Ann’s legacy is one of love, strength, generosity, and steadfast faith. She was the heart of her family, the matriarch, and simply the best of the best. Ona nauczyła nas kochać.
