MARY COLETTA KUSHLAK , age 74, (nee Corrigan and Bell) passed away Friday, March 27 at home under the wonderful care of Holy Family Hospice in the presence of her family. She was the daughter of Joyce and Lynn Bell both deceased and the beloved bride of Dennis since June 24, 1972. She is survived by siblings: Terri Clouse (Michael), Michael Bell (Devienne), Vicki Bokar (Mark), Sandy Lipstein (Jeff) and Sister-in-Law Phyllis Matthews. Mary’s legacy includes her children: Katie Rader, deceased, (Donnie), Maggie Stack (Brandon), David Kushlak (Mindy), Sarah Huey (Todd), Colleen Mihelich (Jim, deceased) and adopted son Brian Trsek Kushlak. Mary took great pride in her 17 grandchildren: the Rader girls, Emma and Chloe; the Stacks, Owen, Mallory, and Wyatt; the Kushlak Clan, Grace, Noah, Isaac, and Amelia; the Hueys, Lauren and Matthew; the Mihelich kids, Jakob, Eva, Maria, and Casimir; and Brian’s boys, Jonathon and Grayson. "Grandma Mary" retired from OhioGuidestone in 2017 and she used the skills learned there to host “Camp Kushlak” for her grandchildren.

Mary was a member of Normandy High’s first graduating class (1970) and led recent reunions. She had an active parish life at St. Adalbert’s in Berea where folks could find the family on Sundays in the third pew on the BVM side. She enjoyed road trips with Dennis and occasionally she let him drive. Her cooking was outstanding as acknowledged by her Father-in-Law, husband, and grandchildren. She was also a stout defender of her family, we all knew that you better not demean any of them. And may God be with you if you ever rolled your eyes in her direction! She will be missed by her many friends, especially her Crestway Oval Girls and the Memorial PTO Crew.

Mary hopes her marriage to Dennis served as a worthy example of a passion-filled life demonstrating true love and commitment to each other. They would say anything can be endured if you included God in your plan. We accept “His will be done”; but for those left behind she will be truly missed. We hope that when you see something sparkle you will pause and remember our Glitter Gal.
