Matthew Roy Lazor, 35, passed away at his home on August 19. He was born March 21, 1980 in Asheboro, NC to Ernie & Jan Lazor of Southbury, who survive.

Matt was a 1998 graduate of Pomperaug High School and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University in 2003. He was a graphic artist and an avid outdoorsman. He spent hours hiking and photographing wildlife with a special interest in birds. He was especially proud of his wild turkey and blue heron photos captured along the banks of the Housatonic River.

He recently expanded his interest in nature to focus on gardening and cultivating vegetables.

He worked as a machinist, creating parts within aero-space tolerances and programmed CNC machines at Lazor Brother's Machining in Lakewood, OH. During high school he worked as a computer systems intern at Prestone Products in Danbury and IBM in Southbury.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother, Thomas Lazor of Southbury and sisters Jennifer Lazor of New Milford; Amy Lazor Cunat of Napierville, IL; Melissa Lazor Flichum of Rocky Mount, NC and Rebecca Lazor Robbins of Roanoke, VA.

He also leaves behind four nephews, Aiden and Thomas Robbins; Kasey Flinchum and Jacob Cunat along with three nieces, Kinsey Flinchum, Ella Cunat and BellaSuzetta Rowlands. One niece, Emma Jean Robbins preceded him in death.

A private service was held Saturday, August 22 in Cleveland, Ohio.
