IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew W.
Timm
October 16, 1956 – February 9, 2022
To know Matt was to love him.
A gentle soul, Matt exuded a goodwill and kindness you could not miss. Matt had the potential to be anything he wanted; what he wanted was to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Otto Timm, and his father, Eugene Timm. Matt was a Mail Carrier who knew and cared for the families to whom he delivered mail and they knew and cared for him.
Matt was a 1974 graduate of Padua Franciscan High School and is warmly remembered by faculty and classmates.
Matt enjoyed a number of hobbies and interests: he loved music, collected coins, and vintage comic books, played a good game of darts, and loved to fish. His greatest passion was gardening. He loved to grow things and took great pride in his vegetables and sunflowers.
Once you were Matt's friend, you were a friend for life. During the last few years of his life, Matt was blessed to enjoy the company of Doris Gwinn (neé Peters), whom he first met 60 years ago. Doris was by his side through his final journey and a source of great comfort to him during hospice care at her home.
He is survived by his six of his seven siblings: Bernadette Takacs of Garfield Hts., OH, Philip Timm of Frenchtown, NJ, Bartholomew Timm, of Kemah, TX, Monica Hunter of Alamogordo, NM, Marian Stryczny of Windham, OH, and David Timm, of Brooklyn, OH. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Elizabeth Kuchinsky of Alamogordo, NM, and his parents, Eugene and Irene Timm of Cleveland, OH. He also leaves behind an adoring group of nephews and nieces who loved their "Uncle Matt".
In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Postal Employees Relief Fund ( http://www.postalrelief.com ) would be appreciated.
"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
