MICHAEL J. FANNING, age 72. Beloved husband of 48 years to M. Karen (nee Doepker); father of Michael W. (Carolyn Kley) and Matthew C.; grandfather of Gregory M.; son of the late Gladys (nee Seiler) and Charles J. Fanning; brother of Judith M. Fanning of Cincinnati, James R. (Marion) Fanning (both deceased) and Charles D. Fanning (deceased) (JoAnne) of Chicago; brother-in-law of Stephen Doepker (Jan) of Cincinnati and Wm. H. Doepker (Mary) (both deceased); uncle and great uncle of many. Mr. Fanning was born in Cincinnati, graduated from Elder H.S., Xavier University and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. He was a national bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, U.S. Treasury, serving as HR Director of the Cleveland Office and Examiner in Charge at Ameritrust, National City (PNC), and Society (Key) Banks. He enjoyed watching the resurgence of downtown Cleveland, was an active supporter of the Playhouse Square renaissance and relished shopping at the West Side Market. Mike volunteered at the Catholic Credit Union, serving the western parishes. He was thankful to be a member of Holy Trinity Church, Avon. Passed away October 27, 2016. Funeral Mass Thursday, November 3, Holy Trinity Church (Avon) at 10 A.M. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery (Avon). Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD.
