MICHAEL J. GIBBONS, age 85. Retired Firefighter, City of Cleveland Division of Fire. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Ann "Peggy" (nee O'Malley); loving father of Daniel (Wendy), Mary Gulla (Andrew) and David (Jennifer); dear grandfather "Pop" of Michael (Katherine), Sarah, Olivia, Meredith Rose, Patrick (Taylor), John, and Joe; great-grandfather of Summer Margaret Gibbons; son of the late Mildred and John Gibbons; brother of Judy Schanz, Kathy Gibbons, Alicia Gibbons and the late Joyce Jarab, Harry Gibbons, Patricia Suhanic and Dennis Gibbons; brother-in-law of Robert Jarab, Julie Gibbons and the late Fred Schanz, Jack Suhanic and Mary Gibbons and the entire O'Malley family; uncle and great uncle of many. US. Army Veteran. Mike was an avid boater, water skier, ice skater and had a great love of the Cleveland Metroparks and Lake Erie shores. Passed away May 3, 2024. Funeral Mass Thursday, May 9, Our Lady of Angels Church (3644 Rocky River Dr.) at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR.
