MICHELE ARORA (nee Heaney) of Westlake, OH, passed away on Friday, January 2, in Greenville, SC, surrounded by family and close friends. She was 57. A strong and brave woman, she boldly battled brain cancer for more than eight years.
Michele was born to Martin and Mary Heaney on November 5, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in nearby Ridgewood, attending St. Matthias School and St. Joseph's High School in Brooklyn. She later earned her nursing degree from the Catholic Medical Center. In 1980, Michele married Dr. Deepak Arora of New Delhi, India, and later moved to Ohio, where they raised their children Anita Marathe (Amar), Reena, Steven, and Monica. Michele devoted her life to her family and is survived by her husband, her children, her grandchildren Layla and Tejas, her father, her sister Susan Reimann and her family, and her sister Maureen Heaney. Funeral Mass Friday, January 9, St. Brendan Church (4242 Brendan Lane, North Olmsted OH 44070) at 10 A.M. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD. THURSDAY 4-8 P.M. Michele is remembered as a woman of great spirit and deep kindness. She was passionate about serving others, especially children. The family requests that, in her memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Children's Medical & Research Charities of America, the American Cancer Society, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF.
