Nellie M Supinski, born in Buckingham, VA, March 17, 1932, passed away peacefully at home in North Olmsted, OH, on January 7, 2026, under the constant compassionate care of her youngest daughter, Barbara Simoncic.

Nellie was the daughter of the late Henry Clay Bryant (deceased) and Ella Catherine (Carroll) Bryant. She was the last surviving of seven children. She was a sister to Marion “Maron” C Bryant (Lillian), James H Bryant (May), Catherine “Lucille” Bryant (Bill Morris), Lewis W Bryant (Emma), William J Bryant (Jean), and Charles F Bryant (Janie). Nellie is the loving mother to 6 children: Donald C. Supinski (deceased), Bernard M. Supinski (Kathie), Joseph A. Supinski (Lori), Mary Bryant McCourt (David, deceased), Carolyn S. Compton and Barbara L. Simoncic (Matt).

Nellie was a proud grandmother of Bernard Mark Supinski II (deceased), Christopher Supinski, Michael Supinski, Kelsey D. Poe (Rusty), Paige A. Reed, Stephen McCourt (Angela), Tavis McCourt (Deb), Ericka Jesenovic (Mike), Juan Carlos Sotomayer, Brittney Grospitch (Billy), Matthew Simoncic, Trinity Simoncic, Nika Simoncic; great-grandmother of 4 and step-great grandmother of 2; adored aunt to many nieces & nephews: Charles “Buck” Bryant, Donna Merriam, Sandy Bryant. Debbie Bryant, Rich Bryant (Wanda), Kathleen “Susie” Falkner, Christine Rush, John “Jack” Bryant, Ronald Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, Pamela Bryant Kerry Bryant, Frank Bryant, Tammy Bryant, Kathy (Supinski) Cannon, Debbie (Supinski) Friedman, William Morris (deceased), and Katherine Morris. This gregarious family was filled with love, laughter and grateful memories.

She started nursing school at 17 and was one of the smartest in her class. Mom attended Buckingham Central High School, Blue Ridge Nursing, and The School of Nursing Medical College of VA. She met Dad at an USO dance in a church basement. His idea of a date was to sit and read Catholic pamphlets. They married August 28, 1954.

Mom had a long career as a registered nurse, primarily at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Hts, until she retired. She loved festivals, food and family, gardening, tomatoes, french onion soup AND POPSICLES!!! She made THE BEST Vegetable soup ever! She loved the outdoors and made countless trips to Uncle John’s Nursery. She had an overwhelming dedication to care for her eldest son Don, who became quadriplegic at age 16, due to a trip in the home. Her care for him pushed through 87 surgeries, and a life of 46 years. Mom fell in love with the Catholic Church and was devout in her practices. She spent countless hours in prayer, loved Mother Angelica and EWTN. Made sure we were all raised Catholic. She would host neighbors to say the rosary together in her home. She was never shy to share her beliefs, she was known for “preaching” to many, as an act of service. She also spent time together with her husband at Toastmaster Conventions and Pro-life rallies. In her last months, she needed to be reminded of everything. The day, the date, who’s coming that day, that she had already eaten. Barb had a library of notes to choose from to put on her table. Most of all, mom taught us the importance of service and taking care of others.
