PATRICIA K. COONEY (nee Schurk), affectionately known as Pat, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2023 just one day before her 79th birthday. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Allen Cooney. Pat was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Catherine (nee Draxler) and Herbert Schurk. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Phyllis Schurk, sister Linda Green, and many cousins and friends. She was the doting aunt, great aunt and great great aunt of many.

Pat was a proud alumna of Rhodes High School and Kent State University. She became an elementary school teacher and spent a career spanning over 30 plus years in the Cleveland Public School District. Most recently she was a puppy foster taking in new puppies every couple of weeks for a local shelter.

She will be missed terribly by her family and friends.
