PATRICIA MARY MANEY (nee Kerwin) of LeRoy, NY passed away peacefully at home on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2023, St. Mary's of the Woods, Avon, Ohio.
Patricia was born in Kenilworth, Illinois on April 1, 1928 to Sophie Urba Kerwin and Thomas Francis Kerwin. She grew up with her sister, Jean, and two brothers, Jack and Tom, in Winnetka, Illinois, then later moved to Chicago.
Pat was educated by the Sacred Heart Sisters, Marymount College, and worked in Chicago as a clerk at International Cellucotton; an assistant to the editor of "What's New" at Modern Hospital Publishing Company; and secretary to the V.P. at Modern Hospital Publishing Co. At that time, she met John William Maney who was a Lieutenant/engineer working for the U.S. Bureau of Ships (Chicago), and they were later married in Batavia, NY on November 21, 1953. They lived in Toronto briefly before settling in LeRoy, NY near John's family and his work (Lapp Insulator Inc.).
Married for 56 years and the parents of five children: Beth Maney Kerwin; Maureen (Maney) Heroux (Roger Heroux); Susan (Maney) Antall (Jim Antall); Sheila (Maney) Edwards (John Edwards); John William (Bill) Maney Jr. (Angeli Maney). Twelve Grandchildren: Amanda (Brian), Jennifer (Eric), Chantelle, Laureen, Justin (Katherine), John (Elizabeth), Sheila, Moira, Sophie, James, Sylvan, and Sean. Seven Great-Grandchildren: Liam, Delaney, Emmaline, Johnny, Conor, Tess, and Quinn.
She was preceded in death by her husband John William (2009), her sister, two brothers and parents.
Pat later worked as a travel agent in Rochester, NY. As a travel agent, she organized and participated in trips, one to the Shrine of Our Lady in Guadalupe Mexico. She enjoyed tennis, knitting, bridge games, interior decorating, her garden, traveling and wintering in Tucson and the art of the French impressionists. She was a very devout Catholic and shared her faith in many wonderful ways throughout her life.
The family is extremely grateful for the amazing attention their mom received by the combined efforts of several individuals: two personal friend caregivers, Griswold Home Care, and Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
Funeral Mass Saturday, December 9, Our Lady of Angels Church (3644 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland) at 11:30 A.M. where family will receive friends 10:30 A.M. until time of Mass. Private inurnment St. Joseph Cemetery (Batavia, NY).
