PATRICK S. MULLIN, affectionately known as "Paddy," of Gates Mills, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13th, at the age of 75. Pat is survived by his wife of 49 years, Amy (née Bowen); his children, Laura, Erin Shank (Sylvan), and Brian (Michelle, née Benkovic); and his beloved brood of eight grandchildren: Mitchell, Bradley Patrick, Owen, Cooper, Connor Patrick, Graham, Olivia, and Dylan Patrick. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Kathy Denver, Edward Mullin, and Jack Mullin.

Paddy's life began in downtown Philadelphia. He grew up in a rowhouse, the youngest of four children. His father, Edward, was a truck driver, and his mother, Agnes, completed only an 8th-grade education. Paddy was born the same week his family bought their first television and joked that it took a few days before his siblings noticed he was there. After numerous entertaining and harrowing childhood stories, he found himself in Cleveland, Ohio, bunking with his oldest brother, Eddie, and attending Kent State University. It was there that he found his calling and entered his "exciting" career in accounting, despite relentless teasing from his family about the stereotype.

Pat was extremely successful in his career, advancing steadily in the corporate world and eventually becoming Managing Partner of the Cleveland office at Deloitte. Ever humble, he chose to focus his strengths on mentoring and advising, generously dedicating his time to many boards. There are too many to list, but those closest to his heart included College Now, Leadership Cleveland, Kent State University, The United Way, University Hospitals, Northern Trust, and the Cleveland Zoo.

He enjoyed life, fully appreciating every day, and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his ability to be present in the moment. His hobbies included golf, woodworking, and cheering on the Indians, Browns, and Cavs. Pat also loved music, and his kids fondly remember Sunday mornings filled with the sounds of Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and show tunes from the CD changer. "Pats Mantra was always to focus on the positive, believe in yourself, dream big dreams and be humble."

Unsurprisingly, Paddy was focused on family first. He reveled in maximizing time with his loved ones, whether traveling, telling jokes, attending grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, plays, or dance recitals. He was the legendary "Super Pat" storyteller and eventually became a self-published author of a Super Pat children's book series. He dedicated the books to his parents, who taught him that "there are only three gifts you can give to your kids: love, education, and a good sense of humor."

He will be dearly missed for the Irish twinkle in his eye, his off-rhythm dance moves, his tone-deaf yet joyful singing, and the Mullin tongue bite. He taught us all to "sing like no one is listening, dance like nobody's watching, and live like it is heaven on Earth."
