PATRICK J. O'NEILL, age 82, native of Motherwell, Scotland, beloved husband of 57 years to Dorothy A. (nee MacBane); loving father of Scott, Wendy Lawson (Doug) and Brian (Jessica); proud Papa of 13; great-Papa of 20; brother of Jean McAuley (Charles) (deceased) and Terry (Margaret) (both of Scotland); beloved uncle, great-uncle, cousin and dear friend of many.  Patrick retired after many years from Ford Motor Co. Engine Plant No. 2 and was a proud U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran.  Patrick was a diehard Cleveland sports fan, especially of the Browns.  Passed away June 23, 2023.  Relatives and friends are invited to meet for his Funeral Mass Thursday, June 29, St. Adalbert Church (66 Adalbert St., Berea) at 10 A.M. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Arrangements by CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of BEREA (216) 251-6566.

Patrick was very proud of his family, a day never passed that Papa was not asking about one of his 33 grand and great grandchildren

He was also very proud of his Catholic faith being an active member of Assumption of Mary where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, He transferred to St. Peter the Apostle where he became a member of the Knights of Columbus. Patrick moved to Strongsville and then became a member of St. Adalbert parish. Over Patrick's final years he became a faithful viewer of EWTN watching daily mass and watching nightly programming about the saints he also became devoted to the rosary and prayed two rosaries a day.

After schooling and an apprenticeship in boiler making he immigrated to the United States from Scotland with the stipulation he would serve in the United States Military and went on to join the US Air Force. Patrick became a Sergeant and Crew Chief on the KC 135's in the Air Force, he traveled all around with his aircraft 028 Dirty Rudder his travels took him to Vietnam, Alaska, Newfoundland, Florida, Texas, and Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana where he started his family.

Patrick was a proud member of UAW 1250 working 35 years at the Brook Park Ford plant in the skilled trades as a Tin Smith, he was very proud of all the work he did especially the work he did in plant 2. It was also during his time at the Brook Park Ford Plant that he found out Catholics could not  Fly.

Over the Years he performed many volunteer hours mostly in the city of Brook Park where he was one of the first soccer coaches in the city he also coached youth football as he was the head coach of the Junior Bantam Packers and Rams he was also an assistant coach for St. Peter the Apostle. Patrick was an avid volunteer to many different organizations including fundraising for the Berea Braves and the Boys and Girls club of America which he held very close to his heart he had planned to spend his retirement years volunteering where ever he could but unfortunately his stroke cut that short never the less he was very proud of what he had accomplished.

Pat loved the game of golf playing as often as he could joining leagues with Ford and going on a yearly golf trip with his Ford Brothers to North Carolina. He was also a huge Cleveland sports fan he loved his Brown, & Indians and was a Glasgow Celtic supporter from the time he was a child. He loved all types of dancing and enjoyed rock music especially the Beatles and The Rolling Stones and experienced Live Aid at Wembley Stadium. Some of Patrick's favorite memories where the years playing softball and golf with his coaching buddies and families better known as Our Gang in Brook Park
