Paul loved rock-n-roll music.
From Aerosmith to ZZ Top. All the pure rock-n-roll artists and bands of the 70's and 80's. Not just the name of the artist and songs, but also the album titles. He knew them all.
Family, Music, Food and Sports were Paul's equally top 4.
Faith was a given. When asked in the nursing home if he knew who Jesus was, he'd chew his food, stop, and say:
"Yeah, My Savior!"
Paul cherished the simple things in life: his music, lunch spots, convenience store trips, time spent with family, and watching Cleveland Sports Teams: Indians, Browns, Monsters, and Cavs. He lived a full life because of that.
Paul's quiet strength and humor (with nary a complaint) described the man he was. Intelligent. Hopeful. Peaceful.
As he persevered through every challenge he faced.
St. Paul says in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Fighting the good fight of the faith is also about perseverance and continuing, even when the road is hard. Paul's road was paved with suffering, but now he wears the crown of righteousness.
Rock on, Paul! Rock on!!
