PAUL LOUIS STALTER, age 68, of North Ridgeville, Ohio. Retired Battalion Chief, City of Cleveland Division of Fire. Passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 24, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1958, in Cleveland to Joseph Stalter and Nancy Crider, stepson to Jane Stalter.

Paul is survived by his wife Theresa Stalter (nee Giurbino) of 49 years, his daughters Rachael (Andy) Chandler, Stephanie Stalter, Deirdre Pulley, and Frances (Josh) Merryman, his brother Larry (Michelle) Stalter, his grandchildren; Ava, Jack, and Tony Marquard, Lily, Sophia, Oliver, and Evie Pulley, Paige and Memphis Chandler, Nicholas Stalter, Ethan and Max Merrryman, and stepbrothers Brent (Nancy) Bailey, Bruce (Barb) Bailey, Tim (Debbie) Bailey, stepsister Michelle Platt, and sisters-in-law Rosemary (Paul) Obojski, Jane (Tom) Brock, Anne Giurbino, and Kate (Larry) McGervey.

Paul will be remembered for his kindness and capacity to love, his sense of humor, and his unwavering courageous attitude. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be sorely missed by his Cleveland Firefighter brothers, the St. Edward High School community, and everyone he met.

Paul devoted his life to the service of others. He rose through the ranks to Battalion Chief on the Cleveland Fire Department, where he was more than a boss, he was a protector, coach, and friend to his brothers. During his time at St. Edward High School he was awarded the Br. Thomas Henning, CSC Award in 2013, along with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026. His family at St. Ed’s were always appreciative of his proactive approach to his duties and the stewardship of the facilities. He rejoiced in helping others with projects around their homes and caring for family.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, July 28 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Chambers Funeral Home, 29150 Lorain Road at Stearns, North Olmsted. Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 29, 11:00 am, at St. Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
