PETER B. HANNON, age 77. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Pete was the devoted husband of Linda (nee Leary) Hannon and proud father of Brian Hannon, Colleen Galla (Gregory), Timothy Hannon (Christine), and Maura English (Joseph). He was a cherished grandfather to Emmett, Catherine, Maeve, and Owen Galla; Cormac, Ciaran, Declan, and Seamus Hannon; and Padraig and Niamh English. Pete was also a loving uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews whose lives he touched.

Born to the late John J. Hannon and Marcelline (nee Hassett) Hannon, Pete was preceded in death by his siblings Alice Marie Hannon, Betty Jane McGreal (Patrick), Mary Lou Pelzer (Daniel), and Thomas Hannon. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Hannon. Family was at the center of his life, and he treasured every gathering, laugh, and story shared together.

Pete will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his sharp and caustic sarcastic wit, and his collection of funny hats that always brought smiles to those around him. Though soft-spoken, his presence was unmistakable, and his humor and warmth left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be desperately missed.

A proud graduate of St. Edward High School class of 1966, Pete carried the spirit of the Eagles with him throughout his life — loyal, humble, and fiercely devoted to family, community, and faith.

Pete dedicated more than 50 years to the Cleveland Irish community. His lifelong service began with the Greater Cleveland Feis Society, where he served as both president and vice president over many decades. He also devoted more than 40 years to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, serving as Deputy Director of the parade committee and being honored as the Inside Co-Chair of the 1991 parade. Pete was also an active member of the West Side Irish American Club and remained deeply committed to preserving and celebrating Irish culture and traditions throughout his life.

Pete’s Catholic faith, rooted deeply from childhood, remained a guiding force throughout his life and was reflected in the love, values, and devotion he shared with his children and grandchildren.

Above all else, Pete was a family man whose kindness, humor, faith, and quiet strength created a legacy that will live on through all who loved him. May his memory be eternal.
