Phyllis M. Waters (nee O'Keefe) age 92, passed away on October 1, 2017 at her residence in Littleton, Colorado. Beloved wife of 45 years to the late James; loving mother of Barry (Donna), Brian (Laurie), Paula Reis (Todd), and Gail McClurg (Mark); grandmother of Jillian (Jake), Amy, Kyle, Devon, Alexa (Casey), Conner, Erin, and Brandon.
Phyllis' Chicago roots were at the core of her life and her devout faith. Born on January 22, 1925 to Dennis and Victoria (Tomaka), her love of family and cherished memories of her childhood with sisters Marilyn and Joan, and brothers John and Donald brought great joy and much humor to all she encountered. She will forever be remembered for her amusing anecdotes, songs and witticisms, "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better best."
Phyllis treasured the many friendships made during 51 years as a resident of North Olmsted.
For over twenty years her incomparable smile greeted customers of the Golden Arches on Lorain Rd.. She was an avid local sports fan, proudly sporting Scarlet and Gray or Chief Wahoo on most weekends during the football and baseball seasons.
Phyllis' strong and abiding faith sustained and comforted her always, and never faltered during her life's most formidable challenges. A proud alumnus of St. Thomas Aquinas in Chicago, the Dominican sisters left a lasting impression that would guide her throughout her long life.
Friends are invited to celebrate Phyllis' life with the family she loved so dearly at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED (29150 Lorain Rd. at Stearns) on Friday, October 13 at 4-7PM. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 14, St. Richard Church (26855 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted) at 9:30AM. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
