RAYMOND A. GAGLIARDI, age 75, beloved husband of 54 years to JoAnn (nee Zarobell); father of Raymond J. (Dalia) and Lisa Pringle (Mark); grandfather of Brennan, Isabella and Sofia; son of the late Lucille (nee Mazzara) and Joseph; brother of Cindy Gagliardi-Shaw (Jim) and Joseph (Theresa); uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Ray attended The Cleveland Institute of Art and led a fulfilling career as an Advertising Executive, leading the Creative Department of many agencies in the Cleveland area. Ray's love and talent in art began with his interest in drawing cartoons and carried on throughout his career. In his retirement he honed his skills with watercolor painting, creating a legacy of beautiful work.
The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at The Ohio State University houses the world's largest collection of materials related to cartoons and comics, including original art, books, magazines, journals, comic books, archival materials, and newspaper comic strip pages and clippings. The art and study of cartoons were important to Ray and memorial contributions in his memory will be used to support the endeavors of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum.
Passed away August 9, 2018. Funeral Mass Tuesday, August 14, St. Peter Church (35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville) at 10 A.M. Entombment All Saints Cemetery (Northfield). Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., MONDAY 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Raymond A. Gagliardi Memorial Fund at The Ohio State University Foundation, 1480 W. Lane Ave, Columbus, OH 43220
