(nee Hood); loving father of Linda Trappe (George), Philip Stock (Yolanda) and Neil Stock;  grandfather "Boompa" to Matthew and Michael Trappe and great-grandfather "Boompa" to Taylor, Logan, Carson and Hayden; son of the late Irene (nee Zeutzius) and John Stock; and brother of the late Edward Stock (Betty) and John Stock (Frances "Mickey"). Proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Staff Sargent 79th Fighter Squadron mechanic. Passed away December 14, 2023.

Memorial Visitation Monday, February 19, 2024, 10 a.m. - 12:30 pm. at the Chambers Funeral Home of Cleveland, 4420 Rocky River Dr. at Puritas, followed by burial at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, 900 Weymouth Rd. (Rt. 3), Medina, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are suggested to Cleveland Metroparks Golf Education Fund/Golf Improvement Fund, 4101 Fulton Pkwy., Cleveland, OH 44144.

Growing up with 2 brothers, Dick shared the hobby of model airplane building and flying into adulthood and passed it to his two sons. After high school, he joined the Air Force and achieved the rank of Staff Sargent as a mechanic in the 79th Fighter Squadron at Shaw Airforce base. Returning home, he attended Fenn College under the work study program. He worked at Republic Steel and met his wife Edith Hood and soon married in June of 1955. Graduating from Fenn College, he continued classes to receive his Professional Engineering certificate.  He worked at Evans and Associates for many years and eventually opened his own firm, Stock and Associates.

Dick was an avid golfer most of his life playing on leagues, with his wife Edith, his sons and grandsons. Over the years he enjoyed traveling with his family and then with his wife around the United States, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. In retirement, he returned to golf and volunteered as a Ranger at the Metroparks Big Met Course for over 10 years. As a course ranger, he golfed for free and did so 3 times per week using a pull cart and walking the many courses of the park system. He worked at being a "scratch" golfer  taking pride in this coveted status. His yard was also a source of enjoyment and pride. He was an experienced gardener and started many vegetables and flowers in his basement growing set up. He had a green thumb he has passed on to his children and grandchildren. He always tried his best and that engineer mentality helped him throughout his life. We all will miss him but always remember him.
