Richard Alan Guder, 77, of Athens passed away Monday evening, September 10, 2018.  Father of Christopher (Kelly) and Jason (Emily). Grandfather of Lily.  Brother of Carol Hunt and the late William Guder, Shirley Heindl, Marion Hubbard, and Rhea Schuster. Uncle of many.  He served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1967, and then earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a Master's in Education, emphasis in Secondary School Guidance and Counseling, both from Ohio University. Remaining in the area, he worked at the Athens Mental Center, from which he retired as Assistant Superintendent in 1993. He was active in the community as a member of Kiwanis and volunteered at O'Bleness Hospital for over 15 years. He was an avid traveler, always happy to share stories of his adventures.  Celebration of Life Service will be held for Richard, along with his twin sister, Rhea Schuster who passed away September 14, 2018, on Tuesday September 18, 2018 IN THE CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME OF NORTH OLMSTED 29150 LORAIN ROAD AT STEARNS AT 11 AM.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Athens County Food Pantry.
