IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard W.
Lisy
May 24, 1939 – October 8, 2021
RICHARD W. LISY. Always an encourager of others, Richard W. Lisy went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, October 8th after a short illness. He was the only child of Frank and Helen, born May 24, 1939.
Dick was an avid reader, conservative talk radio listener, pop culture collector, lover of Glenn Miller and big band music, wedding photographer, a circus specialist, and a teacher for 30 years. You could find him sipping coffee at Panera studying through Proverbs, and always asking questions, his favorite way of connecting.
He loved history as he believed it wasn't just about dates and battles, but people. He touched many lives at West Tech, Midpark High School, and Ford Middle School combining his love for history with pop culture.
His bellowing deep belly laugh could light up a room, and he was always pointing to the grace and mercy of God. He knew it was all grace—every day, each moment, each breath; it was all grace from God. After giving his life to Jesus at Unity Lutheran, Dick was active in teaching the Bible. He then continued Bible teaching at Grace CMA in Middleburg Heights.
He loved his family and is survived by his three children Alicia Havens (Patrick), Paul, and Sara Pachinger (Brian), and couldn't get enough of his eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Elijah, Josiah, John, Hannah, Paige, Rebekah, and Caleb. Richard is predeceased by his wife, Alice, who passed in 2004.
