RICHARD P. MARTIN, born on January 10, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Olmsted Township. A man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication, Richard lived a life defined by his commitment to family, service, and simple joys.
Richard was the beloved husband of the late Sandy, with whom he shared a life filled with love and cherished memories. As a devoted father, he took immense pride in his children: Tracy Conrad (the late John), Danny (Casey), Michael Kaluzny (Katherine), Melissa Johns (Dave), Marcy Taylor (Rick), Angela, and Joanna. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he treasured time spent with Devin, Sierra, Ben, Tyler, Ryan, Robert “Robbie,” Isaiah, Maia, and Giuliana. His dedication to protecting others was a cornerstone of his character, and his work left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him professionally.
Beyond his professional achievements, Richard’s heart was firmly rooted in family and the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in classic cars, particularly his prized 1967 Buick Gran Sport, which reflected his love for timeless craftsmanship. Known as a self-proclaimed foodie, Richard delighted in discovering and savoring dishes at local restaurants, embracing the flavors of his community with enthusiasm. His faithful companion, his dog Leo, shared many of his days and will deeply miss his loyal friend.
Richard also took great pride in his service to his country as a member of the National Guard, embodying values of duty and patriotism throughout his life.
Though Richard was not one for extravagance, his presence was a steady, reassuring force to everyone around him. His unwavering support and quiet generosity shaped the lives of his family and friends in profound ways.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his children, grandchildren, loving family, and faithful dog Leo. Richard’s legacy of love, service, and steadfast devotion will remain a guiding light to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
