RICHARD M. SCOTT, age 78, beloved husband of 54 years to Catherine "Cathy" (nee Riley); loving father of Rich (Annette), Beth Wertz (Bill) and Bob (Denise); proud grandpa of Anna, Ricky, Cory, Andrea, Lauren, William, Corinne and Claire; son of the late Helen (nee Sherck); uncle, great-uncle, brother-in-law and cousin of many. Passed away surrounded by his family October 14, 2020.  A U.S. Army veteran, Rich was born and raised in Wooster, OH.  He attended the College of Wooster and then The Ohio State University where he met his future wife, Cathy, at the famed Varsity Club.  After graduating from OSU with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Rich worked for Howard Smith Company accounting firm in Columbus, Ohio, and then began his 36 year career as a commercial banker with National City Bank in Cleveland.  A 46 year resident of North Olmsted, Rich served as a member of the Recreation Commission for many years.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, going to antique engine shows, and trading in antique tools.  He researched his family history back to it's Switzerland roots, and was a lifelong enthusiast of Native American archeology and history.  Rich spent his retirement years visiting with his children and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed sharing with them visits to his beloved Wayne County Fair. Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 24, at 10:30 A.M. in the CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., where friends may call and where social distancing will be observed and face masks required FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 4-7 P.M.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Mennonite Disaster Service, 583 Airport Rd., Lititz, PA 17543 or The City Mission, 5310 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103.
