ROBERT J. STOCHL, age 80. Beloved husband of 60 years to his high school sweetheart Rose (nee Reichwein); loving father of James R. (deceased), Robert (deceased), Sandra A. Gunvalsen (Robert), Susan E. Goodrich (deceased) (William) and Debra J. Nypaver (Bernard); grandfather of Sean and Taylor "T.J." Gunvalsen, William and Megan Goodrich, Jakob, Nathan and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Nypaver; great-grandfather of Alexia. Robert was a lead engineer at NASA for 35 years and Senior Research Scientist at Sierro Lobo. His accomplishments include patents and over 25 NASA technical reports and papers. He was an expert in the design of cryogenic systems for aerospace and underwater vehicles. He was an accomplished athlete in all sports, including high school football captain and starting tailback at Hiram College, CYO 8th grade coach for 25 years. His hobbies included fine woodworking, auto mechanics, dog enthusiast and trainer of German Shepherds. He was a humble man with many talents, including building his own home. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and loyally attended all their activities. A St. Mary's Parishioner, he was devoted and active. Passed away April 22, 2014. Funeral Mass Friday April 25 St. Mary Church, Berea (250 Kraft St.) at 10:00 A.M. Interment private. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of BEREA, 86 ADALBERT ST. (ONE BLOCK NORTH OF BAGLEY OFF FRONT ST.) THURSDAY 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary Church.
