ROBERT "BOB" WILLIAM THAYER, age 85, of Port Clinton, Ohio and Cape Coral, Florida was welcomed into Paradise on December 16th, 2016. Bob was a longtime staple of Northeast Ohio. He was a well-respected business owner as the proprietor of Thayer's Select Meats in Parma, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and will be buried with military honors. Bob was an avid boater and could often be found at Put-n-Bay enjoying a beer with friends and family. He eagerly anticipated traveling to Florida each year and spending several months in his home by the beach. He was greeted in Paradise by his loving wife (Margaret Mary "Margo") of 54 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents Angela & Orval Thayer, daughter MaryEllen, brother Ray, sister Mary, and grandson Dalton. He is survived by his daughters SueAnn Kratzer (Wayne), Marilyn Knauss (William), Margaret Mary Simmonelli, Eileen Swaney (David), and Maureen Funfgeld (Erik). He was Grandpa to Erik Kratzer (Meg), Kristina Albright, Marissa Carey (John Adam), Kelli-Anne Stebal, Sara Mersek (John), Patrick Humphrey, Elizabeth Funfgeld, Sara Swaney, Shannon Humphrey, Ricardo Simmonelli, and Erika Funfgeld. He was Great-Grandpa to Sadie, Andrew, Matthew, Avery, Riley, Isla, Hannah, and Reid. Bob was known for his quick wit, being outgoing, kind, and devoted to his family. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for his Funeral Mass Monday, December 19, St. Patrick Church (West Park) at 10 A.M.
