ROBERT FREDRICK VOTH, IV, died peacefully at home in Fairview Park Sunday, April 3. He was 77. Born May 12, 1938, in Fairview Park, Bob attended Fairview High School. He played on the school's last undefeated conference championship football team, graduating in 1956 before going on to study political science at Wittenberg University and Ohio State University, where he completed his degree. In his early career, Bob worked as an insurance adjuster for Crawford & Company in Cleveland, a job that took him to the family home of Magdaline (Midge) Illius in April 1964. The couple was married two years later, on July 16, 1966. In 1974, Bob completed his law degree at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University and began working as a workers compensation plaintiff attorney, a job he did with expertise, passion, honesty and pride until he retired in 2014. Bob and Midge have been parishioners of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Fairview Park for nearly 40 years. Bob's devotion to his family was matched only by his devotion to his church and God. It's fitting, then, that he passed on the Feast of Divine Mercy. In his free time, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family--particularly his five grandchildren--fishing, playing bridge, and traveling the world, although his favorite place for a peaceful, quiet getaway was close to home in Amish Country. Bob is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Magdaline; son Robert (Susan) and grandsons Bobby and Hayden of Richfield; daughter Jennifer (Ken) and grandsons Bryce, Alex and Brady of Medina; son William (Gretchen) of Charlotte, NC; brothers Richard (Karen) of Cincinnati and Donald (Mary) of Lombard, IL; and sister Linda Auge' of Naperville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Fredrick Voth, III and Paula Ida Hexter. U.S. Air Force Veteran. Funeral Mass Thursday, April 7, at 1:30 P.M., St. Stephen Church, where Bob and Midge were married (1930 W. 54th St., Cleveland 44102) . Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
