With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Roberta "Bertie" Sue Sanders, age 77, who passed away peacefully in her home on July 29, 2025 in Olmsted Twp., OH.  She was born on July 17, 1948 in East Cleveland, OH to Robert E. and Helen S. (Turos) Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sister, Elaine (Sanders) Demchik. Bertie is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia M. (Martin) Istre and Donna M. (Martin) Holten; her seven grandchildren: Craig Martin, Kurtis Istre, Kristopher "Kris" Istre, Kala Istre, Brandon Scheer, Alex Scheer, and Courtney Scheer; one great-granddaughter, Phoebe West; and two nephews, Dwayne Demchik and James "Jimmy" Demchik.

Bertie had a strong spirit, quick wit and a sharp mind as demonstrated in her lifelong career in bookkeeping and tax preparation.  Bertie enjoyed short day trips, true crime shows, caramel chews, horses, cats and the Cleveland Indians.  She had a deep compassion for animals, particularly horses and cats, and will be deeply missed by her cat Cinders.  She had kindness, compassion and loyalty for those she loved and often brought humorous banter.  She will be deeply missed with fond memories.
