ROSE M. HAWKINS (nee Hagedorn) age 87, gained her heavenly wings on September 9,2026. She was born on October 26,1938 to Julius and Wilma Hagedorn. She graduated from Jackson Center High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University. She was the only woman in her graduating class with a business degree in accounting. Following graduation, she married the love of her life Dwight Hawkins and they settled in Findlay, Ohio. Rose held many jobs during her working carrier such as a bookkeeper, church secretary, teachers’ aid for the physically handicapped class and substitute teacher. After retiring to her childhood farm in 1984, she studied and became an EMT on the Jackson Center Rescue Squad for 5 years. She also volunteered as a 4-H advisor for over 25 years teaching students sewing and cooking skills. Church was a second home for Rose. She was active in Sunday School, Bible Study, visiting shut-ins, reading lessons and baking or cooking for church gatherings. Rose was quite artistic. She loved to sew, make quilts, paint, make pottery and leaded glass creations, and even did woodworking.
Family meant EVERYTHING to Rose. When Dwight died in April, a part of her died too. She is survived by her son Kevin (Rebecca), daughter Julie Pressnell (Michael), grandchildren: Melissa Ingraham (Daniel), Laura Hawkins, Melinda Tinney (Jeffrey), Holly Hawkins (partner Angelo), Meredith Pressnell (Larry), Matthew Hawkins (Nele), and six great grandchildren: Owen, Hazel, Joshua, Sirius, Charlotte, Marilyn, plus her canine companion Buddy Marie.
